OCS ENGINEER FEATURED ON BBC LOOK NORTH AS PART OF CREATIVE ARTS PROJECT
A member of the Teconnex team in the UK has been featured on a regional Yorkshire news show for her participation in an arts project.
Alisha Bell, an OCS Engineer and Document Controller Apprentice, spoke to BBC Look North after taking part in 100 Creative Women and Girls of Keighley.
The project involved award-winning photographer Lisa Holmes photographing the artistic work and skills of women and girls in the town where our UK headquarters is located.
Speaking to Look North, Alisha said: “I wanted to portray who was behind what is manufactured. Usually, you will see the clamping and automotive, exhaust system and you wouldn’t have recognised the work that goes into it by the engineers.
“And I wanted to portray that sometimes it is not just a man behind that. That has designed it. It is a woman that is truly capable of doing the same thing as well.”
The BBC Look North also featured other participants of the project, which is a collaboration between Keighley Creative, Lisa Holmes Photo Hub, and many of Keighley’s community organisations.
Work from the project is now on display in the town centre on Hanover Street.
